Forever Young: Chocolate Buffet

If you’re looking for a fun thing to do some Saturday morning in Boston go check out the Langham’s Chocolate Buffet. It runs every year from September to June and it has become a “welcome back from school” tradition for my mom and I. The first time we went was after I got back from my freshman year of college and we just keep going back!

Here’s a photo of my first plate! For my first round I grabbed a donut from the donut wall, cake pops, and chocolate mousse.  I also took a mug of the chocolate soup- my favorite thing they bring back year after year!

For the next round I stopped by the crepe station and dipped some fruit and cake in the chocolate fountain.

This is another one of my favorite chocolate buffet staples! It may seem like you can get cookies and milk anywhere but drinking out of the bottle is so much fun!

Here are some of the desserts that match the theme: their version of Pop-tarts and and cereal and milk.

If you’re more of an ice cream person check out this topping bar!

If you love dessert I would definitely recommend stopping by the chocolate bar next time you’re in Boston!  Let me know what your favorite dessert is in the comments below!

Weekly Style 19

This Weekly Style is so special because it is all about a collection from one of my favorite bloggers! Kate from Lonestar Southern was one of the biggest influences when I wanted to create a blog! Her style is absolute goals and she seems like she has such a great time blogging that I thought hey that might be fun! She is also the reason I found out about Starfish Project, one of my favorite jewelry lines.

Kate teamed up with a store in Dallas called The Impeccable Pig to create the cutest summer line! There are so many cute pieces so lets get started:

Gone to Charleston Crop Top & Gone to Charleston Shorts

How cute is this set?! I love the complete look but I also love that you can mix and match with other pieces in the collection. My favorite part of the top is definitely the ruffle and my favorite part of the bottoms are the tie waist! So adorable!

Picnic Party Stripe Romper

Screen Shot 2018-05-20 at 11.26.03 PM

This romper is so sweet! One thing I love about rompers is how easy they are, there’s no time wasted in trying to find a top/bottom because it’s all built in! The details of this romper make it even cuter, I’m obsessed with the red trim and there is a cute keyhole cutout on the back.

Free Flowin’ Pink Dress

Screen Shot 2018-05-20 at 11.33.38 PM

This dress is gorgeous! I love the colors and the print! It is so flowy which makes it absolutely perfect for the summer. And the icing on the cake: it looks like it is a little longer in the back! Us tall girls need all the help we can get!

Last is my absolute favorite piece: Little Darling Embroidered Dress

Screen Shot 2018-05-20 at 11.43.50 PM

Darling is definitely the perfect description for this dress! I am in love with the sleeves and the embroidery! I am such a huge fan of off the shoulder dresses and everything about this dress is perfect!

To end today’s post I just wanted to share some of the cute statement earrings in the collection:

Uncategorized, What I'm Reading

What I’m Reading: Shutter Island

IMG_9671During finals week I drove out to Wilbraham, MA to go to their library’s book sale. I picked up a few different books that I hope to read throughout the summer. I mean how could I resist it was $2 for a whole bag!

The first book I picked up was Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. I had seen the movie when I was in high school and was mind blown. Not only did the movie star Leonardo DiCaprio, the ending is crazy.

The book is about Teddy Daniels, a U.S. Marshall that goes to find a missing patient at a mental hospital. He and a partner travel to an island in Boston Harbor and have quite the adventure. I do not want to give too much away but the book plays with the idea of not being able to trust the narrator. A similar idea to  Still Alice but in a different setting.

If you enjoy puzzles and mysteries this is definitely the book for you. There are so many twists it’s bound to keep you guessing. And if you like anagrams and codes keep a pen and paper nearby!

If you are looking for a thriller to take to the beach with you I would definitely recommend this! If you really want to feel immersed in the story, wait until Hurricane season…

Once you are done with the book, go rent the movie! It’s not on Netflix or Hulu right now but it is 100% worth the $3.99 on Amazon. I mean who can pass up watching Leo for a few hours…

Weekly Style 18

In two weeks I will be finishing up my orientation for physical therapy school! I’m so excited to start this next chapter of school! One of the requirements for my program is that for certain classes we have to dress professionally to prepare ourselves to be in the working world. As someone that isn’t so fond of khakis I need to get creative… quickly.

All that being said, today’s post is going to be all about business casual clothing from Banana Republic Factory!

First up is the Ruffle Sleeve Top:

Screen Shot 2018-05-08 at 11.56.17 AM

I absolutely love the color and the sleeves! The perfect thing about this top is that the sleeves mean you aren’t required to throw a cardigan or blazer on over it!

Next is the Layered Tunic Top:

Screen Shot 2018-05-08 at 12.00.07 PM

This top is such a cute color and it would look good with a black blazer and gold ballet flats. I haven’t tried this top on (yet!) but it also looks a little longer meaning it would pass my teacher’s “no belly no booty” rule. If you like this shirt but are looking for a different color it also comes in white and black!

Here’s another Layered Top:

I love light blue! I also love the neckline of this one. It also comes in pink, white, or blue. If you pick the blue it would look great with a statement necklace like this one from J. Crew Factory.

Then we have the Collarless Pleat Sleeve Blazer:

Now I’m not a blazer person but I will definitely be trying this on soon! I am obsessed with the sleeves and will be keeping you all updated!

Lastly we have the Texture Pop Color Academy Blazer:

So it seems like pink is the color of the day… But this is just so cute! If you picked out the black version or white versions of the shirts above they would look awesome with this!

That’s it for my intro to business casual but stay tuned for more to come!

Stay stylish!

Weekly Style 17

Hey hey hey!

It’s been so long since my last post because this semester has been absolutely crazy!  To get back into the swing of things I figured I would do a weekly style featuring the new Sarah Patrick line from KJP!

If you aren’t familiar with KJP, it is a brand that specializes in classic Americana. If you follow Kiel and his wife Sarah on Instagram you can see they truly are living the American Dream. Their feeds are filled with pictures that make you want to drive a Wagoneer around Nantucket all summer.

Just a heads up: the items are just in resale right now and are expected to ship halfway through May.

First up is the Nautical Chinoiserie Mini Dress:

This dress is a summer must have! It’s such a good fit and the print is to die for. It would be perfect for walking around Bowen’s Wharf this summer to check out their flagship store. My second favorite pattern for the mini dress is the Newport Topiary Gardens, you can find it here!

Next up we have the Sconset Rose Cottage bracelet:

If you’re looking for the perfect bracelet to accompany your new dress look no further! This bracelet is so delicate and intricate! It’s a great addition to any outfit.

Then we have the Climbing Rose Tassel earrings:

Although I love my pearls I’m also a huge statement earring person and I’ve fallen hard for these earrings! They would make a simple white dress complete! If you’re looking for the finishing touch on your graduation look here it is!

Last but not least are the Ginger Jar Topiary Earrings:

How fun are these?! If I had a garden party to go to, these would already be in my cart! They are too adorable to pass up!

All photos are from the KJP website! I do not own any of them!
