I wanted to share a super simple recipe with you guys if you need a last minute thing to bring to a New Year’s Eve party! I made Christmas Crack as a gift for my grandmothers this year but switch out the Christmas bow for silver or gold ribbon and you are all set to ring in the New Year!
Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 350 F
Step 2:
Cover your jelly roll pan (9×13) with aluminum foil. You can spray the aluminum foil with cooking spray to make your life a little easier but I’ve never had trouble peeling it off. Line the tray with saltine crackers.

Step 3:
Start with melting butter on medium heat. Once the butter is melted, mix the butter and sugar in a pot on medium heat. Boil for 3-5 minutes. Keep stirring until it has thickened. You can add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract here!
Step 4:
Pour the mixture evenly over the saltines. Make sure it reaches the edges!

Step 5:
Bake for 5-10 minutes. Then remove from the oven.
Step 6:
Cover the crackers with chocolate chips. Give the chocolate chips a few minutes to melt and then you can spread to cover the top! Once you’ve spread the chocolate leave in the fridge for at least an hour to cool.

Step 7: Optional
Break up and serve in a mason jar with a cute bow!

Happy baking!
